Passive sentences are important in English, Chinese and Japanese, which also serve as one of the difficulties in language acquisition. Passive sentences consist of three components: object, agent and verb. This paper makes a comparison on English, Chinese and Japanese passive sentences from those three aspects and points out the similarities and differences among them, in the hope of providing reference for the study of these three languages.
